Carousel Residency - January 25, 2008 After a few shows under the big top, the folks at the Carousel Lounge have offered us a mini-residency on the last Friday of each month. To return the favor, we'll be going all out with two sets of tunes and tricks that we're not likely (or welcome) to be pulling out of the bag anywhere else. Sets that may or may not include the following: Costumes. Cover sets. Live animals. Free admission. So drop on by. We'll be hitting the stage a little after 7 and finishing up a couple of hours later. And as always, bring your cash, because they won't take your filthy Discover Card at the bar. Here are the next few dates: April 25th May 30th U-Heads on PBS, etc. - December 3, 2007 Holy smokes. Our performance at the Black Star Beer Co-op Fall Beer Social was recorded and is featured in the latest installment from Docubloggers of Central Texas. Enjoy. Radio Reprise! Down with Borders- November 8, 2007 We've been featured on this week's podcast of KUT's Radio Without Borders program. High tail it down to KUT.org to stream the program or download it as an mp3 for your iPod music box. Onward to total domination! U-Heads on the Airwaves - November 1, 2007 The Unfortunate Heads made their live on-air debut on KUT 90.5, Thursday, November 1st, as the Music with Jay Trachtenberg program was kind enough to invite us into the studio for a short set of songs and a little chit-chat. Head on over to kut.org to listen to an archived stream. ![]() U-Heads on Austinist - August 24, 2007 Yip Yip! The Unfortunate Heads have been featured as a "band to watch" by Austinist. An excerpt: "What’s the Deal: The Austin indie folk fivesome has just released their sophomore disc, Come Be Light. Featuring multi-instrumentation by the likes of banjo, keyboards, upright bass and theremin all layered over reliable acoustic chords, the group manages a sound that’s familiar with flare. Their last album was darker, more downtrodden, but this one has so many styles and themes swirling that dizziness should be more of a pressing concern..." - William Mills, Austinist Check out the full article here. U-Heads on the Internets - August 12, 2007 A fine fine writeup on the Unfortunate Heads has popped up over at Covert Curiosity. An exceprt: "...the album is a pleasant trip down similar paths that were forged by psychedelic-indie-pop bands such as Elf Power, while the Unfortunate Heads cover new ground with their introspective songwriting and layered multi-instrumentation."
